Editing the HighSpell Wiki[edit]
To help grow a shared resource of free knowledge and culture, all contributors to the HighSpell Wiki agree to grant broad permissions for the public to redistribute and reuse their work freely, in accordance with the terms of the wiki's license. By editing the HighSpell Wiki, you agree to license any text you add under its Creative Commons license.
As a contributor, you agree to be credited in any of the following ways:
- Via a hyperlink (where possible) or URL to the article you contributed to.
- Via a hyperlink (where possible) or URL to a stable, freely accessible online copy that follows the license and gives equivalent author credit.
- Through a list of all contributing authors. (These lists may exclude very small or irrelevant edits.)
Importing Text[edit]
You may only import text from other sources if the material is under a license compatible with the HighSpell Wiki's license.
Do not add work to the wiki that you do not own the rights to, or that is not freely licensed under compatible terms.
If you're importing text from a source that requires attribution, you must credit the original author(s) in a reasonable way. The standard method is through edit summaries (as with internal copying); including the attribution in your edit summary is sufficient.
Non-Text Files[edit]
Freely licensed or public domain images and other media are strongly preferred for use on the HighSpell Wiki.
Please do not assume that non-text media is under the same license as the text. Check the file's description page for specific licensing information.
When uploading files, you must cite the original source, credit the creator(s), and provide any applicable copyright information. The HighSpell Wiki community may establish additional guidelines for file uploads.
Using HighSpell Wiki Content[edit]
When reusing content from the HighSpell Wiki that is released under an attribution license, you must credit the original authors. You can do this in one of the following ways:
- Provide a hyperlink (where possible) or URL to the page(s) you're using.
- Link to a stable, freely accessible online copy that follows the license and gives equivalent credit.
- List all authors. (Author lists may exclude very small or irrelevant contributions.)
Example of proper attribution:
This article uses material from the Undercroft Dungeon page on the HighSpell Wiki and is licensed under the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 3.0 license.
If you modify or add to the content you reuse, those changes must also be licensed under the same or a compatible license. For more information, consult the Creative Commons website regarding the relevant license.
Note: Content from off-wiki platforms (such as Discord, forums, or IRC) is not covered by the HighSpell Wiki's license unless explicitly stated.
