Quick Start Guide
You begin your adventure in a small house in Middlefern, located near the center of the Overworld. Most new players start by killing a few nearby Chickens to collect raw meat for training Cooking and getting some food. Be sure to also gather the dropped Feathers—they're useful later on—and Bones, which can be banked to the southwest for future use (or sell to players for some Coins).
Before doing anything else, enable Sprint (click the icon to the left of your minimap). This doubles your movement speed and has no downside. Note that you'll need to re-enable it each time you log in.
For orientation, you can view the Overworld map to get your bearings.
⚠ Be aware of common scams that players may attempt. Staying informed and cautious is the best way to protect your items and account.
If you die, you'll respawn in the Anglham Castle courtyard, just south of Middlefern. Dying results in the loss of most items you were carrying or wearing.
The Wastelands are a PvP-enabled area, similar to the Wilderness in Old School RuneScape. If you die there, other players can loot your items.
Skills
Crafting
Buy a Chisel from a General Store and use it on Logs to create blank Scrolls. Ned's Squirrel Ranch (west of Middlefern) has multiple log spawns and plenty of trees. A Knife can also be used on logs to craft Unstrung Bows and Arrow Shafts.
Cooking
Use raw meat / fish on a stove or fire to get edible food that can heal your Hitpoints. Head west from the center of Middlefern for a good stove with multiple raw meat spawns.
Crime
There are locked chests in Hedgecastle (west).
Find yourself a Man and pickpocket him. Make sure to bring some food to heal your Hitpoints when you get caught.
Enchanting
Use blank Scrolls on elemental obelisks to craft specific magic scrolls. A Water Obelisk can be found at Fymel Pond (north-east).
Fishing
A Basic Rod spawns along the river south of Middlefern. A hidden pond to the right of Middlefern features multiple fishing spots for new fishers. Better rods can be bought at High Cove (south-west). Each rod catches different types of fish.
Forestry
Grab a Bronze Hatchet and head to Ned's Squirrel Ranch for plenty of trees and multiple log spawns. There is a hatchet shop in Banton (Jack's Axes) where players can buy hatchets up to Palladium.
Harvesting
Pick potatoes at the farm south-east of the spawn house in Middlefern (Bronze Gloves spawn here, which must be worn to harvest). After leveling up a bit, head to the farmland east of Hedgecastle for potato, wheat, corn, onion, strawberry and watermelon crops. Better gloves require a higher harvesting level to equip.
Magic
A witch sells magic scrolls at Peggy's Potions & Magic Shop in the south-east corner of Celadon City, which are required to cast spells.
Melee ( Accuracy, Defense, Strength)
Click on the combat icons beneath the minimap to select a combat style (which skills you get experience in). Train on Squirrels at Ned's Squirrel Ranch and sell their pelts to Ned. Combat is extremely slow at first and you'll probably get killed by the squirrels a few times. After leveling up a bit, train on Bandit (Melee) (level 10) in Celadon City (east).
Chestplates can be bought in Hedgecastle, whereas Platelegs, Chainmail Bodies and Longswords can be bought in Celadon City.
Mining
Head to Hedgecastle and enter the Dwarf Caverns for easy access to tin, copper, iron and coal rocks. A dwarf , named Emeril, inside the cave sells pickaxes. Alternatively there is a quarry containing tin, copper and iron rocks with no NPCs present along the east exit of Celadon City.
Potionmaking
Bring harvested ingredients to a brewing cauldron. One can be found in the magic shop in Celadon City. Sages have a 30% Root Loot Table probability and frequently drop various different roots. Carrots can be found in a farming patch between Gnome Hill and Barbarian Base and are required in addition to an Aruba Root and Vial of Water to create Potion of Accuracy (2).
Range
Bows and arrows can be bought from Orlando's Archery Shop in Celadon City.
Smithing
Multiple anvils and a furnace can be found right next to a bank in Hedgecastle. Tin and Copper Ore can be smelted together into a Bronze Bar. With a Hammer in your inventory, interact with an anvil to smith items.
