Crime training guide (low → high)

This page provides choices in training progression for the Crime skill, focusing primarily on pickpocketing NPCs and lockpicking chests. Generally, you should try to do the highest level content available at your current level. For general information about the Crime skill, see the main Crime page.

Equipment

• Bandit Mask – +1 Crime, improves pickpocket and lockpicking success.
• Black Leather Gloves – +1 Crime (plus Strength and Defense).

Equipment adds invisible crime levels that increases your chances of pickpocketing. It does not effect lockpicking.

Levels 1–10: Pickpocketing Men

• Level 1: Man – 10 XP per success.

Note: You can pickpocket the Man outside of Anglham Castle to be right next to the spawn point until you die and repeat. Do not bring any items with you (you will only keep 3).

Levels 10–35: Low/Mid-Tier Pickpocketing

• Level 10: Farmer – 16 XP.
• Level 14 or 20: Guard – 20–30 XP.
• Level 30: Dwarf – 40 XP; potential loot: Iron Ore, Coal, Potion Of Mining (1), Palladium Ore.
• Level 35: Squire – 45 XP.

Levels 45–99: Mid/High-Tier Pickpocketing

• Level 52: Wizard – 80 XP; potential loot: Fire Scroll, Nature Scroll, Water Scroll, Fury Scroll, Rage Scroll, Warp Scroll.

Level 35+: Lockpicking Deluxe Chests

• Deluxe Coin Chest (example locations: Ictirine Jail, Dragonsmoke Island) – 150 XP and 50 coins each; respawn ~180 ticks (~108 s).
• Rotating between chests is the most efficient method for XP per hour and coin income.

Making NPCs stuck during pickpocketing

• If you use an alt to talk to the NPC they will not move. This makes pickpocketing extremely easy, otherwise they will move around.

Pickpocket as left click option

• You can use option "Prioritize pickpocket" in "Context menu settings" on highlite to always left click pickpocket npcs. Highly recommended for long grinds.
