Enchanting

Enchanting is a skill that consists of imbuing wooden scrolls with magic power by using them on magical obelisks. These enchanted scrolls can then be used to cast spells with the Magic skill.

The higher your Enchanting level, the more scrolls you can create per enchant. These bonus scrolls do not grant additional experience. High-level enchanters often trade enchanted scrolls for blank ones at ratios higher than 1:1. Since they generate bonus scrolls and are mainly focused on gaining experience, they're effectively sharing their extras in exchange for you running to the bank for them.

Some may offer to trade in bulk using IOUs, though typically at a reduced rate (such as 1.5:1), in exchange for convenience.
