Description[edit]

Can you complete the trials of Master Sato?

Requirements[edit]

Skills[edit]

Items[edit]

  • None — you must unequip your armor and weapon, and place all items (potions, scrolls, food, etc.) into storage before starting
    • To avoid making the long trip back to a Bank, deposit everything before heading to Sato's Dojo, as the bank chests there remain inaccessible until you have completed the trials

Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Travel to Sato's Dojo and speak to Sato, a martial arts master seeking challengers for his trials.
  2. Speak to Sato to begin the trials.
    • Sato explains that to begin, you must leave behind all worldly possessions:
      • Unequip all armor and weapons, and empty your inventory if you haven't done so already.
    • The difficulty increases with each round, adding more and tougher enemies.
    • Your Hitpoints are restored to full at the beginning of each round.
  3. Start the first round of the trials.
    • You will face 3 Martial Artists.
    • After defeating them, you successfully pass the first round.
  4. Start the second round of the trials.
    • You will face 5 Martial Artists.
    • Complete the round to progress further.
  5. Start the third round of the trials.
    • You will face 3 Martial Artists and 1 Brute.
    • The Brute has higher health and hits harder, so prioritize wisely.
  6. Start the fourth round of the trials.
    • You will face 3 Martial Artists and 2 Brutes.
    • This round tests your ability to manage multiple strong enemies at once.
  7. Start the fifth and final round of the trials.
    • You will face 10 level 100 Squirrels.
    • Despite their appearance, they hit very fast and can overwhelm you quickly. Stay alert.
  8. After completing all five trials, Sato will welcome you as a full member of his dojo.

Rewards[edit]

Strategy[edit]

During Sato's Trials, it's possible to isolate a single enemy to make the fight more manageable. If you run all the way to the north side of the arena, then move far to either side and return while hugging the northern edge, you can often engage just one enemy without drawing aggro from the others.

However, be aware that you must step back into the main part of the ring roughly every 30 seconds to prevent enemies from despawning. If you're trying to slowly regenerate Hitpoints between fights, you’ll still need to briefly tank hits from all enemies every 30-60 seconds to keep them from resetting.
