Crime is a great skill to accumulate resources and wealth.
Pickpocketing NPCs is a great way to train.
Picklocking special chests hidden around the map is also a great way to train the crime skill. Pickable chests can be found scattered throughout the game world (usually inside of buildings), requiring a Crime level correlating with the value of the stored items to unlock.
Pickpocketing
Many NPCs can be pickpocketed for Crime experience and various loot, with each attempt taking 5 Ticks (3s) each. On failure, the player is stunned for several ticks and takes damage, which scales with their Hitpoints level—lower Hitpoints result in less damage, while higher levels bring it closer to the maximum listed below. For this reason, players often train Crime before combat to conserve food, as lower Hitpoints reduce the overall damage taken from failed attempts. Players who keep their Hitpoints level at 13 or lower will take 1 damage per failed attempt. At Hitpoints level 14, players will take 2 damage per failed attempt given that the npc is able to do so.
The Probability field represents the internal value pulled directly from the game files. However, the exact relationship between this value and your actual success rate is currently unknown.

Tips
You can enhance your Crime training by casting Aurum Majora or Minor while pickpocketing. Although this costs 1 tick of pickpocketing time, it allows you to cast two Aurum spells, earning additional Magic experience and converting unwanted items into Coins. You can cast Aurum spells while stunned, which, in addition to eating food, are some of the only actions you can take in that state.
It is recommended to use an alternate account to lure a target by attacking it, where possible. If done correctly, the alternate account will be in a safe spot while maintaining combat with the NPC. This stops the NPC from moving, which maximises xp rates by eliminating wasted ticks while following them between pickpockets, and simplifies clicking. Common locations to lure NPCs are in the Ictirine City Jail containing various targets, or the Middlefern hut containing a Level 16 Wizard.

Lockpicking
Although listed in the in-game menu, the Goblin Hut Chest is currently not able to be opened. For this reason, it is not included in the list below. If and when it become available, it will be added to the wiki accordingly.
