During combat, your Defense level combines with the defensive stats of your equipped gear to determine how likely you are to block incoming damage. This applies to all forms of combat—[[Strength|melee]], [[Range]], and [[Magic]]—and is effective in both PvP and PvE scenarios.
In general, training Defense helps reduce how often you're hit, no matter the attack style.
