Range is a combat-related skill that allows players to deal damage from a distance using bows. Training Range increases your accuracy and damage output when using these weapons, and also provides some Hitpoints experience with each successful hit.

Ranged combat is especially useful for "safe-spotting" enemies—standing behind obstacles such as rocks or half-walls to avoid taking damage while continuing to attack. This makes Range one of the safest and most efficient combat styles, particularly during low-level training or when fighting tougher enemies.

As part of the "combat triangle", Range tends to perform well against opponents using Magic, since a high Range bonus also improves your resistance to magical attacks. However, melee users can still be dangerous if they manage to close the gap.

Equipment Requirements[edit]

The items listed below require a certain level of Range to equip. If an item provides a bonus to Range but is not listed here, it can be assumed that it does not have a Range level requirement. For a list of items that increase your Range stat, see the Range Equipment section further down.

Range Projectiles[edit]

Maximum damage with Range is now capped based on the type of arrow you're using. This change was introduced in the New Solo Boss update on July 18th, 2025. Prior to this, players could deal unusually high damage—even into the high teens—while using basic arrows like bronze, which made higher-tier arrows feel less meaningful. The update helped balance this by making arrow quality directly impact your damage potential, which in turn affects your XP/hour, since lower damage means slower kills and reduced training efficiency.

Item Range Max Damage
Bronze Arrows +3 style=vertical-align:middle;8
Iron Arrows +6 style=vertical-align:middle;10
Steel Arrows +9 style=vertical-align:middle;13
Palladium Arrows +12 style=vertical-align:middle;16
Coronium Arrows +15 style=vertical-align:middle;20
Celadon Arrows +18 style=vertical-align:middle;24

The Max Damage value for Celadon Arrows is technically unconfirmed as of now given no players have reached max level Range.
